Tecnologie Avanzate promotes and supports studies aimed at developing and validating artificial intelligence models in the fields of radiotherapy, radiology, and nuclear medicine. For instance, in radiotherapy, a project was conducted in collaboration with an Italian center of excellence to evaluate the effectiveness of machine learning models in predicting physician approval of treatment plans. This evaluation was based on the dose distributions of these plans ( https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/37405256/ ). In radiology and nuclear medicine, Tecnologie Avanzate is also actively involved in various projects aimed at developing machine learning models for diagnostic and prognostic purposes.
The ultimate goal is to integrate the studied and developed models from these projects into the platforms designed by Tecnologie Avanzate (iTA Mining and iTA Web).
